Classroom Descriptions1. Learn about the formation of the Church and it’s growth. How did early Christians worship? How did the church form and organize? What is the structure of the Church? Who were our early leaders? How did the Church grow? What challenges did the Church face?
2. Learn about the reformation and the churches role in exploration and missions. Learn about the cultural heritage of the church in the United States. Learn about important Councils that renewed the Church. What was the reformation and counterreformation? How did these movements effect the Church? How did the church work to evangelize the new world? What effect has the Church had on U.S. Culture? What was Vatican I & II and what effect did they have on the church? 3. Learn about human dignity, virtue, the grace of the Holy Spirit and the decision to live out life in Christ. What is true happiness and holiness? What role does free will and intellect play in our faith? What are the costs and rewards of discipleship? What are theological and moral virtues? What makes a just society? How can we share our lives of grace? 4. Learn about the ten commandments. We will study their historical and religious meanings. What are the ten commandments? What role do they play in our everyday lives? What is the meaning behind them? How can we use them to live out lives? |
